Judge sniffs out marijuana in court

A 22-year-old German man in court on a charge of possessing cannabis is facing further trouble after the judge sniffed out a package of the drug hidden in his sock. Judge Koray Freudenberg told local media it's not the first time his acute sense of smell has led to a drug bust. The defendant was fined €1,800 and issued with a court summons on fresh charges.
Cats inherit £230,000 from dead owner
Two cats have inherited $300,000 (£230,000) after their wealthy owner passed away. The cats, named Troy and Tiger, will share the money left by author Ellen Frey-Wouter, who died in New York at the age of 88. Two aides have been hired to look after the animals, whose money is being held in a trust fund to cover their living expenses.

13-year-old arrested with 25lbs of meth
A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in Colorado after police pulled him over while he was driving a car. Officers searching the vehicle discovered more than 25 pounds of the drug methamphetamine. The boy has been charged with manufacturing, possession and distribution of a substance, as well as driving without a licence and failing to drive in a designated lane.
