A man is in custody after challenging the Redford township Police Department to get 1,000 shares of his post on Facebook. Michael Zaydel, who had several outstanding misdemeanor warrants, had promised police he would turn himself in if they reached their target, and would deliver a box of doughnuts to the officers and clean up rubbish surrounding a local school.
Thief in suitcase robs luggage on bus
Two men have been arrested by French police following a string of thefts from passengers’ luggage on a bus route from Paris to Beauvais airport. A bus driver spotted one large brown bag that appeared to be moving on its own, and police were called to intercept it at the airport as it was being collected. Inside, they found a thief, two laptops, cash and other items of value.

Woman charged for killing child by sitting on her
A 23-stone (147kg) woman has been charged with homicide and cruelty toward a child, after killing a nine-year-old girl by sitting on her. Officials say Veronica Green Posey, 64, was trying to discipline the girl for misbehaving, and had struck the child with a ruler and a metal pipe before sitting on her for 12 minutes, leading to her death.
