Australian fined after giving prime minister the finger

An Australian man has been fined $250 (£140) for giving Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull the finger after he “jumped the queue” to buy beer in a local pub. Former senator Sam Dastyari set up a Go Fund Me appeal, which has raised more than $850 (£480) to pay for the fine “and a few beers”.
Worker stranded in cherry picker by angry resident
A New York woman has been charged with false imprisonment and harassment, after she cut power to a cable company’s cherry picker, stranding a worker several metres in the air. Neighbours say the woman has a history of shutting off idling commercial vehicles because she believes they are killing her trees.

Noisy children spark AK-47 attack
An Oregon man is in custody after he used an AK-47 to shoot at his neighbours after a noise complaint. Franklin Tomes, 59, was reportedly involved in a long-running dispute about his upstairs neighbours’ noisy children. Two people are recovering in hospital from gunshot wounds.
