Preacher claims US civil war soldiers ‘fought dinosaurs’

A US preacher has made the extraordinary claim that Confederate soldiers fought dinosaur during the 1861-1865 US civil war. The preacher, 22-year-old Matt Powell, backs up his claim using a widely debunked hoax photograph (seen above) as proof. The image, however, was created for an “alternative history" theme park which closed in 2012.

Seal slaps kayaker in the face with an octopus

A New Zealand man has caught on video the moment he was slapped in the face with an octopus, hurled from the water by a large seal. Kyle Mulinder was kayaking off the coast of New Zealand near the coastal town of Kaikoura when the seal, hunting the octopus, threw the animal from the water, striking Mulinder.

Prison escapee caught returning with contraband

A Tennessee inmate has been charged with fresh offences, after he escaped from a minimum security prison and was caught attempting to sneak back in with drugs, cell phones and tobacco to sell on the black market. Robert Frusco, 37, was already serving a 68-year sentence for “especially aggravated kidnapping” at the time of the offence.
