SRI LANKA, TUESDAY: Military personnel march during Sri Lanka’s 66th Independence Day celebrations in the central town of Kegalle, around 40km from the capital of Colombo.

SUMATRA, SUNDAY: A victim of the Mount Sinabung eruption lies covered in ash at a village in the Karo district. At least 16 people were killed when the volcano erupted last weekend.
