Okazaki will leave as a ‘champion’

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has paid tribute to Japanese forward Shinji Okazaki, who will leave the club this summer. Okazaki played a key role in Leicester’s Premier League title win in 2016 and Rodgers said: “He leaves a champion, as a legend in the club’s history. I have spoken to him and at this stage of his career he was wanting to have an opportunity to maybe play in Europe somewhere, with the opportunity to play as a striker. But his contribution at this club has been immense. He played a part in the great history here at Leicester City.” (Sky Sports)

Hudson-Odoi to United?

Journalist Guillem Balague claims that Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi is one player on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s radar for the Manchester United squad rebuild. Balague said: “What I’m hearing is they want to get players, the best players, of the Premier League away from the top six. And they want young [players] as well. Yes, they’re interested in [Callum] Hudson-Odoi, but not just him. They will not go for the bigger names, the biggest names. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not want superstars, so forget about that.” (Daily Star)
