Man Utd transfer news: Ivan Perisic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Nikola Milenkovic
Inter could sell Perisic to United to fund swoop for Real Madrid’s Luka Modric
Manchester United could finally get their hands on Ivan Perisic. Inter Milan are now “willing to sell” in order to fund a move for Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.
The Sun claims the Italian giants are desperate to bring Modric, who won the 2018 Golden Ball, to Milan. To that end they will sell United the 29-year-old Perisic in order to fund the swoop.

In recent months the Croatian international has been repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford. But the Sun says that a deal to join United was scuppered last summer when Perisic was persuaded to stay at Inter by boss Luciano Spalletti.
As recently as November, however, the Croatian admitted that playing in the Premier League was his dream. That dream could now be realised. Reports in Italy say that an offer from United in the region of £31m could be “enough to prise Perisic away from Milan”.
Lazio talk tough
Meanwhile the Sun has also published the comments of Italian outlet Tuttosport regarding Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
United are keen on the Serbian playmaker but so are Inter, Juventus and AC Milan. Aware of the interest, Lazio will demand a “hefty fee” given the player is “contracted in Rome until 2023”.
Deadlock on defenders
The Daily Star reports that United “will not be signing Toby Alderweireld or Kalidou Koulibaly this month”, but it’s not all gloom and doom for the Red Devils because they could land the two blockers in the summer.
It’s a claim also made by ESPN, which says that Tottenham have no intention of parting with Alderweireld midway through a season, while Napoli are similarly resolute when it comes to Koulibaly.
But will United wait that long? No, says Sky Sports. The broadcaster believes United will shortly make a move for rising Porto star Eder Militao. The 20-year-old Brazilian blocker has been a sensation at Porto since arriving from Sao Paulo and United are poised to pounce.
Pereira as bait
From Milinkovic-Savic to Milenkovic. The Daily Mirror claims that United’s Andreas Pereira could be on his way out of Old Trafford “as part of a deal to bring Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic to the club”.
Citing reports circulating in Italy, the Mirror says that United intend to use Pereira as a bargaining chip in a deal to persuade Fiorentina to offload Milenkovic.
Apparently United are “long-term admirers” of the Serbian and will sacrifice Pereira in order to get the 21-year-old centre-back.
