Boko Haram kidnaps dozens of boys, young men from Nigerian village

Boko Haram militants stormed Malari, a remote village in Nigeria, earlier this week, kidnapping about 40 young men and boys, BBC News reports.

Villagers who fled from the gunmen arrived in Maiduguri, the state capital, on Friday. They said militants arrived in pick-up trucks, ordered all of the men outside to hear a sermon, then forced the younger men and boys away through a nearby forest.

BBC News reports that more than 2,000 people were killed in northeastern Nigeria in 2014 as a result of insurgent violence.
