Female bullfighter Karla de los Angeles gored by bull, twice
On Sunday, Mexican bullfighter Karla de los Angels faced a 1,100-pound bull named Gamusino in the world's largest bullfighting ring, Plaza Mexico. It didn't go well for de los Angeles.
Gamusino gored de los Angeles once when she was going in for the kill, and once again after she tried a second time, after being treated for her first injury, BBC News reports. She ended the match with two long gashes in her thigh and gluteal muscle. The bull also injured her monosabio (assistant) Federico Domínguez when he tried to help her. Women have fought bulls for centuries, but de los Angeles is one of the few professional female bullfighters working today.
