The future has never looked brighter for sharing photos of your dog on the internet. Instagram has grown 50 percent over the last nine months.
With 300 million active monthly users, the Facebook-owned service has officially surpassed Twitter, which had 284 million such users at last count, The New York Times reports. Interestingly, Instagram users interact with posts at 18 times the rate they do on Facebook, according to a recent report.
In Instagram's announcement Wednesday, CEO Kevin System also mentioned that the social network will start verifying celebrities, athletes, and brands. Filter away, selfie lovers.
