Last week, Frozen star Idina Menzel thrilled 6-year-olds and Disney shareholders alike when she claimed that Frozen 2 was "in the works." But don't book your return trip to Arendelle just yet; in a Tuesday interview, Menzel clarified that she doesn't actually know if a Frozen sequel is happening.
"I have no idea," said Menzel, when asked about a Frozen sequel, in an interview with Today. "I just assumed that because it's so successful that's what they're up to!"
If Menzel's quasi-retraction puts you in a bad mood, allow me to offer a little consolation: Menzel is right to assume that a Frozen sequel is on the horizon. Frozen is the highest-grossing animated movie in history, with $1.2 billion at the box office. Frozen toys are outselling Barbie. Disney has no intentions of freezing out Frozen anytime soon.
