Poll: New Hampshire Senate race is extremely close

That's according to two polls released Sunday, one of which gives incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen the edge while the other puts Republican challenger Scott Brown in the lead. A poll from WMUR said 46 percent of likely voters would vote for Shaheen while 43 percent would vote for Brown, but a New England College poll gave Brown a razor-thin edge over Shaheen at 48.7 percent to 48.2 percent. As CNN notes, both projected leads are within the polls' margin of error, so the race is effectively a dead heat.

FiveThirtyEight gives Shaheen an 82 percent chance of retaining her seat.
