Scott Brown closing in on another upset Senate win, says new poll
Scott Brown is within striking distance of picking off another Democratic-held Senate seat, as a CNN poll released Thursday finds him in a dead heat with Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. In the survey, Shaheen leads 49 percent to 47 percent, putting the race within the poll's 3.5 percentage point margin of error.
After trailing by double digits early on, Brown has dramatically closed the gap over the past few months. Shaheen still holds a small lead in poll aggregators, but the trend line is not favorable to her.
Yet with so little time left to election day, Shaheen still has an 80 percent chance to keep her seat, per The New York Times. If Brown surges late though, he could very well score another stunning upset as he did in Massachusetts in 2010.
