Watch the big surprise ending from last night's Walking Dead premiere

Last night, The Walking Dead returned with an explosive premiere episode — but it was the last 30 seconds that really got fans talking. In a surprise post-credits teaser, the episode teased the return of a long-lost, fan-favorite character:

It's unclear how he'll fit into the larger narrative, but in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Scott Gimple teased a larger storyline for the character as season five moves forward. "Looking at him, how he's dressed, how he's acting — it's not a 42-minute episode there — but you get some hints about where he's at," he said. "I would look at that carefully."
