7th Heaven star Stephen Collins recorded confessing to child molestation
Stephen Collins — a career actor who spent 11 years starring as Reverend Eric Camden on The WB's Seventh Heaven — has allegedly confessed to molesting at least three children in an audio recording.
According to TMZ, the tape was secretly recorded by Collins' estranged wife, Faye Grant, during a therapy session. "The exposure happened a couple of times," says Collins in the audio tape. When Grant mentions that the victim was 10 years old, Collins replies, "No... she was 11 and then, like, 12 and 13." Collins goes on to name several other girls he victimized. "There were, like, three incidents over three years," he summarizes.
The alleged incidents occurred "decades" ago — but according to New York law, the statute of limitations begins at the date of reporting, which opens Collins to prosecution. Earlier this week, two NYPD officers flew out to Los Angeles to interview Grant as part of a "current, active investigation."
