Marvel's Deadpool is finally getting his own movie

Have room in your heart for one more superhero movie? 20th Century Fox certainly hopes so. 2016 will see the release of the next X-Men spin-off: Deadpool, a film centered on a quippy, super-powered mercenary who has become popular among comics fans for his tendency to break the fourth wall. The movie will hit theaters in February 2016.
The announcement comes just a few months after test footage from the proposed movie was leaked to the internet, to an immediate and enthusiastic response:
Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool in 2009's little-loved X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which ended by teasing the possibility of a Deadpool spin-off movie. Reynolds is not yet confirmed to reprise the role in 2016's Deadpool, but it seems very likely; his interest in the character dates back all the way to 2003, and he was linked to the role as recently as last year.
