Watch Derek Jeter's humble retirement speech
Derek Jeter, you may have heard, is retiring at the end of the season. So the Yankees pulled out all the stops on Sunday for Derek Jeter Day, bringing in past Yankee greats, baseball luminaries, and Michael Jordan to say so long to the New York legend.
After a long — and, some would argue, ostentatious — ceremony, Jeter addressed the crowd: "I want to thank you for helping me feel like a kid for the last 20 years," he said. "In my opinion, I've had the greatest job in the world." --Jon Terbush
Speech over, Jeter took the field, unaware his team was pranking him on his special day.
