For those who have everything: The Aromafork
A fancy fork that can give you a bubble-gum-flavored pork chop — and more in our collection of bizarrely elite consumer products
Imagine a bubble-gum-flavored pork chop. Or a smoked cheesecake. Nearly any flavor combination is possible with the Aromafork ($59), said Mark Wilson at Fast Company. It's a "deceptively simple device" that exploits the mind's tendency to confuse tastes (of which there are five we can discern) with aromas (of which there are perhaps a trillion). Each fork set comes with 21 small jars of aromatics plus a medicine dropper. A depression in the fork's handle holds a small piece of blotting paper that absorbs the oils. Forget the pork chop; "imagine tasting one steak flavored 21 different ways."
