Tiny Minnesota town elects dog as new mayor

A Minnesota town is literally going to the dogs — or at least to a dog.

Residents of the tiny Minnesota hamlet Cormorant have elected a seven-year-old dog named Duke to be their new mayor, according to the local CBS affiliate. The station reports that 12 people cast ballots to make the pooch their honorary mayor. The pup will be compensated in kibble.
