The behind-the-scenes look at Saved by the Bell you didn't know you wanted is coming to TV
Bust out your giant cell phones and grab some caffeine pills: This Labor Day, Lifetime will premiere The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, a look at the antics that happened behind the scenes of everyone's favorite Saturday morning comedy.
The cast was chosen by none other than Saved by the Bell's original casting director, Robin Lippin, so it should be good. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the television movie will star Dylan Everett (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Julian Works (Paranormal Activity) as Mario Lopez, Tiera Skovbye as Elizabeth Berkley, and Taylor Russell McKenzie (Blink) as Lark Voorhies. Sam Kindseth (Shameless) somehow lost a bet and got stuck playing Dustin Diamond.
No mention has been made so far of anyone playing Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding), Ed Alonzo (Max), or any of the older cast members. Here's hoping The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story does feature actual unauthorized stories, lots of acid washed jeans, and unison shouts of, "There's no hope with dope!"
