Apparently it went well.
In Hillary Clinton's new memoir, she describes her secret meeting with then Illinois senator Barack Obama before the 2008 Democratic National Convention as "two teenagers on an awkward first date." The quote comes courtesy of CBS News, which obtained a copy of Hard Choices days before its June 10 release.
Clinton shed light on what it was like meeting her victorious opponent after a taxing presidential primary. She writes: "taking a few sips of Chardonnay. ... both Barack and I and our staffs had long lists of grievances. It was time to clear the air. ... One silver lining of defeat was that I came out of the experience realizing I no longer cared so much about what the critics said about me."
