The Associated Press reports that after months of missed deadlines and delays, Afghanistan's government has unveiled its Cabinet nominees. When President Ashraf Ghani was inaugurated in September, he fired his entire Cabinet and has delayed naming any replacements until now.

Abdul Salaam Rahimi, Ghani's chief of staff, announced the 25 Cabinet nominees on Monday. Now, the list of nominees must be approved by the country's parliament.

The nominees include Salahuddin Rabbani, Afghanistan's former head of the high peace council, for foreign minister. Sher Mohammad Karimi, Afghanistan's military chief of staff, is nominated for defense minister. And the list of 25 nominees includes three women.
