CBS casts its Supergirl
Yet another popular comic-book hero is bound for the small screen. CBS has found the lead actress for its adaptation of Supergirl: Melissa Benoist, an actress best known for her roles in Fox's Glee and the Oscar-nominated drama Whiplash.
Supergirl, which hails from the creative team behind the defunct ABC superhero drama No Ordinary Family, is expected to premiere on CBS in 2015. The network has already given Supergirl a series order.
