Residents of Sapporo, Japan, are in for (what some may call) a real treat: The Kit Kat Chocolatory, a specialty store in the city, will unveil a butter-flavored Kit Kat next month.
The unique flavor won a contest by the Tsuji Group culinary school and pays tribute to Hokkaido, the Japanese island where Sapporo is located. The region is home to many of Japan's dairies and is famous for milk, butter, and cheese, as well as salmon and sea urchin.
The new Chocolatory branch will open on March 7, and the buttery candies will be available starting that day. The "Special Butter" flavored Kit Kats will be sold in four-packs for $3.36 or 12-packs for $10.20.
