In what he called a "transformative moment for HBO," chairman and CEO Richard Plepler appeared at today's Apple press conference to unveil HBO Now, a standalone, unbundled subscription streaming service available exclusively on Apple products.

For $14.99 per month, HBO Now subscribers will get full access to HBO's full catalogue of past and current TV shows, as well as any movies available on its streaming service at a given time. The content will be streamable on any Apple device, including iPads, iPhones, and Apple TVs.

Plepler promised that HBO Now would be available in "early April," in time for the premiere of Game of Thrones' fifth season on April 12.
