Paul Ryan is being sued over a car accident

Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) chief of staff, Kevin Seifert, was involved in a fender-bender in February last year, and now both men are facing a $100,000 lawsuit over the crash. Ryan was not in the car at the time of the incident, but owns the car Seifert was driving, according to Legal Times.
The lawsuit, filed by Santos Perez and Adan Bamaca Cajas, claims that Seifert rear-ended Perez's car because Seifert failed to maintain a safe speed or distance. The lawsuit says Perez sustained injuries "including, but not limited to: a closed head injury with a concussion, and symptoms including but not limited to headaches, nausea, and insomnia; and strains of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine."
The government counters that Ryan and Seifert, who at the time was acting in his duties as an employee of Congress, have sovereign immunity against claims related to the accident, and is asking for the case's dismissal.
