Japan defeats England 2-1, advances to Women's World Cup final against U.S.

Japan defeated England, 2-1, in Wednesday's Women's World Cup semifinal, and will play the United States Sunday during the final game in Vancouver. In the 92nd minute, England defender Laura Bassett accidentally sent the ball into the England net, CNN reports. Japan is the defending champion, and Sunday's game will be a rematch with the United States. In 2011, after a 2-2 tie, Japan beat the U.S. in the penalty kick shootout, 3-1.
