During his visit to Ethiopia on Monday, President Obama slammed Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who declared Sunday that the president is marching Israelis straight to the "door of the oven" with the Iran nuclear deal. Obama called Huckabee's comments "part of just a general pattern we have seen that would be considered ridiculous if it weren't so sad.”

"Maybe it's just an effort to push Mr. Trump out of the headlines," Obama said during a news conference in the African nation. The president added that while many Republicans have rallied to condemn controversial comments — such as Donald Trump's flagrant discrediting of Sen. John McCain's legacy as a prisoner of war — "outrageous attacks have become far too commonplace."
