Clinton has dropped 21 points among Democrats since July
Even among her key base of white women, Hillary Clinton doesn't fare so well in a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. Over the past two months as Clinton's email scandal has bubbled to the surface, her support has suffered, dropping below 50 percent among Democrats for what The Washington Post reports to be "the first time" in Post-ABC surveys. Although Clinton still holds her lead in the Democratic primary polls, she has lost a notable 21 points among Democrats since July.
Her decline in support comes across all demographic groups, but most notably among women, particularly white women. The Post reports: "In July, 64 percent of white women said they supported Clinton; today it is 31 percent, the same level of backing as Sanders, whose support has doubled among this group."
Still, Clinton clenches 42 percent of the support from registered voters, leading Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by 18 percentage points, at 24 percent. Vice President Joe Biden, who still has yet to decide whether he will run, has 21 percent. But as Clinton has fallen since July, both Biden and Sanders have seen a sizable jump in support.
