Bill O'Reilly explains the good and the bad of Donald Trump to Jimmy Kimmel
Donald Trump is "an interesting phenomenon," Fox News star Bill O'Reilly told Jimmy Kimmel on Monday's Kimmel Live. O'Reilly said he's known Trump for 30 years, and occasionally goes to Yankees and Knicks games with him ("Of course he always pays" O'Reilly laughed), and in the Republican presidential race, "there's both good and bad in what he's doing." Trump won't hurt the GOP's chances next November, he predicted, because there will be "a totally different canvas then."
What Trump has done well, O'Reilly said, is "that he's articulated the anger of a lot of Americans — not just Republicans, by the way. They're kind of fed up with not making any money." But along with Trump's winning message "comes a responsibility, and that's where Trump has to up his game if he wants to be in it for the long haul." Trump's polls numbers will fall — "they have to" — O'Reilly said, and Republicans who are offering solutions, like Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), will rise. Kimmel disagreed, saying he thinks the only Republican who could beat Trump is Bill O'Reilly. O'Reilly only kind of took the bait. Watch below. Peter Weber
