Dreams come true: Lucky Charms is releasing a marshmallow only box — with a catch
General Mills is giving the people — well, at least 10 of them — what they want: A box of Lucky Charms with just the marshmallows.
For years, fans have been asking for a marshmallow-only version of the cereal, and now that it's here, you have to enter a contest for your chance to win a box. From now until Oct. 18, interested parties 18 and older must take a photo of themselves holding an imaginary box of Lucky Charms, tag it #Lucky10Sweepstakes, and upload the image to Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. "We wanted to have a little fun and connect with our fans," says Amanda Hill, associate marketing manager for Lucky Charms. "It needed to be easy and accessible for everyone to have a chance to win and celebrate what makes us, us — the marshmallows."
Although only 10 people will walk away with the limited-edition box of cereal, the fact that General Mills had rapper Biz Markie sing the contest rules to the tune of "Just a Friend" means we're all winners. Catherine Garcia
