Carly Fiorina's moment in the spotlight seems to have already passed. After surging to second place in the polls following strong performances in both Republican presidential debates, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO has dropped way down in the rankings — she's now in a three-way tie for seventh place. The new national CNN/ORC poll out Tuesday shows that, in the last month, Fiorina's support has plummeted by 11 percentage points, dropping from 15 percent to 4 percent.
This isn't the first poll to show Fiorina slipping. An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll out Monday showed Fiorina in sixth place with 7 percent. In September, she was tied for third with 11 percent.
The CNN/ORC poll's margin of error is ± 4.5 percentage points, and the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll's is ± 4.9 percent.
