Watch the heartbreaking video for 'Hello,' the first single from Adele's new album
After teasing fans with a brief snippet released earlier this week, Adele has finally released "Hello," the first single from her new album 25 — and you might want to grab a box of tissues before you sit down and press play:
The six-minute music video for "Hello" presents a romantic relationship in miniature, offering brief snapshots of times both happy and miserable. "I'm sorry for breaking your heart," Adele sings, from the perspective of a post-breakup phone call. "But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore."
It's a heartbreaking ballad in the classic Adele wheelhouse, and it's sure to whet appetites for the whole album. 25 arrives (somewhat incongruously) on November 20.
