Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton hit back at a Republican legislator who has called for her immediate impeachment should she take office.

"Isn't that pathetic?" Clinton told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on Friday. "It's just laughable, it's so totally ridiculous."

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) has suggested that the ongoing scandal over Clinton's use of a private email server as secretary of state would be grounds to accuse her of unlawful activity. Clinton has maintained she did not break any laws, but there's still a bit of a gray area.

"In my judgment, with respect to Hillary Clinton, she will be a unique president if she is elected by the public next November, because the day she's sworn in is the day that she's subject to impeachment because she has committed high crimes and misdemeanors," Brooks said in a recent interview with radio host Matt Murphy.
