Police name Tashfeen Malik as second San Bernardino shooting suspect
San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan identified the second suspect in Wednesday's deadly mass shooting in San Bernardino as Tashfeen Malik, 27.
Police said there are reports Malik was in a relationship with the other suspect named earlier, Syed Farook, 28. Both were killed during a police shootout Wednesday afternoon in San Bernardino, after a short pursuit starting in the nearby city of Redlands. Police, ATF, and FBI agents are now searching a home in Redlands that is connected to Farook; Burguan said there are multiple addresses listed for both Malik and Farook, and authorities are not sure if they lived in the home.
The shooting took place during a holiday party for the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health. Farook, a San Bernardino County employee for five years, was at the party and then left, police say, before returning with weapons. Burguan said the authorities still do not have a motive.
