Vandals cause thousands of dollars worth of damage to private jets at LA airport

For the second time in two years, vandals breached security at the Van Nuys Airport in Southern California and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to corporate jets.

Gannon said airport police are working with graffiti experts from the Los Angeles Police Department to try to determine who is behind the tagging. Gannon, who said the incident shows the need for better security measures at the airport, estimates that it will cost a few thousand dollars to clean each plane. In July 2013, taggers spray-painted a Learjet at the same airport with "Flame" and "R.I.P.," causing $100,000 worth of damage.
