Chip Kelly is out as coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced Tuesday.

In a letter posted to the Eagles' website, chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie wrote: "I spent the last three seasons evaluating the many factors involved in our performance as a team. As I watched the season unfold, I determined that it was time to make a change." This was the Eagles' second losing season since 2005, with a record of 6-9.
