Ted Cruz may now be ahead of Ben Carson in the polls, but he still didn't beat him on fundraising this quarter. While the Texas senator raked in $20 million in the fourth quarter of 2015, retired neurosurgeon Carson raised around $23 million in the year's final three months, Politico reports.

Carson's impressive haul comes amid donors' concerns about how quickly he is spending his money — he spent over half of what he raised in the previous fundraising cycle — and as he tumbles in the polls. While Carson led in Iowa with 28 percent just two months ago, he now sits in third place with 13 percent, behind Cruz with 31 percent and Donald Trump with 21 percent.
