Like many of us, Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina sat down on New Year's Day to watch some college football. The Stanford University alumna joked about the Rose Bowl on Twitter, suggesting she'd root against her alma mater in favor of supporting Iowa, an early voting state:
Her strategy may have backfired, because the Hawkeyes suffered a 45-16 rout. Iowa fans dubbed it the #CarlyCurse.
"For heaven's sakes, can't a girl ever have a little bit of fun?" Fiorina told Dana Bash on CNN's State of the Union. "Let's just say if the biggest mistake I make is a tongue-in-cheek tweet about a Rose Bowl, the American people will sleep safely when I'm president of the United States."
