Syed Adam Ahmed is a 6-year-old from the greater Toronto area who loves hockey. He's also on the Canadian no-fly list, a fact his parents have been unable to change.
"Every [airline] agent has been really sympathetic to our situation," says the boy's mom, Khadija Cajee. "There are always eye rolls, they're always in disbelief. A lot of times they think it's my husband so they look at him, but he always says to them, 'No, it's the little guy down there.'"
The family has been advised to change Adam's name or ask for a special ID for him, but they prefer to simply have him removed from the list entirely before Adam gets old enough for his place there to be less ridiculous. After Adam's story attracted international attention thanks to his father's tweet, Canadian Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said he would look into the matter.
