GOP candidates snarkily react to the Democratic debate

Despite the poor timing of the Democratic debate Sunday evening, more than a handful of Republican presidential candidates tuned in to watch — and, of course, to get snarky on Twitter. Here are the best of the GOP's reactions:

While Donald Trump was uncharacteristically silent for the duration, Rand Paul made up for it by live-tweeting the entire debate.

Time is ticking for both Democrats and Republicans to get their words in edgewise — both parties will face their first caucuses on Feb. 1.
