British lawmakers are scheduled to debate a petition to ban U.S. Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump from entering the U.K., as a response to Trump's own proposal to bar Muslims from entering the United States.

More than 500,000 people have signed an online petition calling for Trump's ban from the U.K., and under British law, any verified petition backed by 100,000 people must be considered for debate in Parliament. The debate is scheduled for three hours — but whatever the outcome, it won't result in a binding vote.
