Bernie Sanders says he's 'very proud' of his 'positive campaign'
With just 37 percent of the Iowa Democratic caucus votes in, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) told CNN Monday night it's "too early" to tell who will win, but he's "very proud of the campaign that we ran."
Sanders told Jeff Zeleny it was a "positive campaign," and the support he's received in Iowa and across the United States shows "the American people are very dissatisfied with the situation, where the middle class continues to shrink while almost all new income and wealth goes to the top 1 percent. I think regardless of people's political persuasion, people are really angry about the campaign finance system, which is corrupt and allows billionaires to buy elections." Shortly after Sanders made his remarks, the results showed Hillary Clinton leading Sanders 51.5 percent to 47.9 percent.
