Martin O'Malley suspends campaign

After a poor showing in the Iowa caucuses, Democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley suspended his campaign Monday night, telling supporters he was grateful for the "opportunity to be a part of writing this story of our country's future."

The former governor of Maryland thanked those who caucused for him, and said he fought a "courageous battle. When I got into this eight months ago, I had no doubt that it would be anything but a tough fight. And it is a tough fight. But I have always been drawn to a tough fight."
