House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) sees the battle for the Republican nomination coming down to Donald Trump and Marco Rubio, he told MSNBC's Morning Joe on Monday.
But he went on to say he can see himself working with any candidate that wins, assuring Joe Scarborough that yes, he means even Ted Cruz.
"I think I could work with anyone that comes out to be the nominee, yes," McCarthy said. "Because I think fundamentally, whoever wins that nomination wants to be successful."
