CNN's Jake Tapper compares Rubio supporters to delusional baseball fans

CNN's Jake Tapper spoke with commentators S.E. Cupp and Ana Navarro on The Lead yesterday about the very real possibility of Donald Trump becoming the Republican nominee. Although they didn't say it outright, both Cupp and Navarro were clearly worried about such a prospect — and optimistic about Marco Rubio's electability in the general election.
In the clip, singled out by Politico's "Playbook," Tapper puts Cupp and Navarro's hopes in perspective — by using the terms of a long-suffering sports fan. "You guys sound like — I mean, I hate to say this, I'm a loyal Philadelphia Phillies fan. You guys sound like Phillies fans."
Cupp and Navarro both burst out laughing. "This could be our year!" Cupp plays along.
