Idaho pastor shot day after delivering invocation at Ted Cruz campaign rally
A prominent Idaho pastor was shot in his church's parking lot on Sunday, just one day after delivering the invocation at a campaign rally for Ted Cruz, MSNBC reports. Tim Remington, 55, served as the senior pastor of the nondenominational Altar Church in Coeur d'Alene and gave the opening prayer for Cruz on Saturday at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.
Remington is described as being in stable condition after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The gunman remains at large, with police naming a white mid-30s male as the suspect.
"Our prayers are with Pastor Tim, his family, and the doctors who are supervising his care. We pray for his full recovery and are thankful for the efforts of law enforcement to ensure the attacker is swiftly brought to justice," Cruz campaign spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told NBC News.
