Vice President Biden arrives in Israel as violence flares

Since Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Israel Tuesday to discuss military aid and patch up relations, there have been four violent attacks, including a stabbing rampage that occurred less than a mile away from where Biden was holding talks with former Israeli President Shimon Peres. The stabbing left at least one dead and nine wounded before the lone Palestinian assailant was fatally shot by police.
It remains unclear whether Biden or Peres were aware of the nearby violence as they met. The Washington Post reports that the violence "appeared timed for maximum attention during Biden's visit."
