5 killed after sightseeing helicopter crashes in Tennessee
All five people aboard a tour helicopter died Monday afternoon when the copter crashed in eastern Tennessee, authorities said.
"There's not a lot of the helicopter left," Pigeon Forge Police Chief Jack Baldwin told NBC News. "It's just basically a burnt mess." The Bell 206 sightseeing craft crashed at 3:30 p.m., north of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Baldwin said the impact caused a fire, which is spreading due to wind. Federal Aviation Administration officials are headed to the scene to start an investigation.
