Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz is retiring after the 2016 season, and his last hurrah isn't off to a bad start. Fenway warmly welcomed him to his last home opener Monday, The Boston Globe reports.

A slew of Boston sports stars honored him on the field, but that doesn't hold a candle to his 15-year-old daughter, Alex, singing the national anthem. Ortiz didn't necessarily tear up — maybe there was just something in his eye. Julie Kliegman
